The first Community Podiatry Clinic in Singapore was officially opened on 19 February 2023 at Delta-Indus Residents’ Network Office, with clinic operating since April 2022 on selected Sundays on a regular basis. Our second community clinics started operating at Commonwealth Close Residents’ Network Office, on selected Sundays since 10 December 2023.
The community clinic offers the following services to the elderly of low-income families, completely free of charge:
- Basic toenail trimming/nail care
- Foot screening
- General foot care advice
Through this initiative, the Association hopes to educate the public, especially the elderly on how to better manage or prevent common foot and/or leg conditions. The importance of timely medical intervention cannot be overlooked in the effort to prevent the worst-case scenario of foot amputations amongst the elderly and diabetic individuals.
