Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision & Mission

At the Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore),

Our Vision is dedicated to advancing podiatric medicine in Singapore by promoting its professional standing, enhancing its recognition as an essential component of healthcare, and fostering the retention and growth of podiatric professionals.

Our Mission is to advance podiatry and serve the community through initiatives that create meaningful impact where it matters most. While we provide CPD workshops and similar opportunities, we recognise that many practitioners can access such resources independently. As such, we do not focus excessive effort or allocate significant funds toward this area. Instead, we prioritise addressing areas that deliver the greatest value to both the profession and the community.

Our core priorities are:

  1. Charitable Community Clinics
Providing accessible podiatric care to elderly individuals from lower-income groups, ensuring they receive the treatment and support they need to improve their quality of life.
  2. Advocating for Podiatry’s Scope of Practice
Engaging in productive dialogues with the Ministry of Health to expand recognition, standards, and opportunities for podiatry, strengthening the profession’s role in Singapore’s healthcare system.
  3. Inspiring Future Generations of Podiatrists
Promoting podiatry as a fulfilling and impactful career to Singaporean students across primary schools, secondary schools, polytechnics, and junior colleges. Through career talks, learning journeys, and internships, we aim to nurture interest and grow the local talent pipeline.
  4. Positioning Singapore as a Centre of Excellence
Hosting undergraduate students from renowned podiatry programs in countries like the UK and Australia for clinical placements. This not only raises Singapore’s profile as a hub for podiatric education but also fosters cross-border learning and collaboration.

By prioritising these initiatives, we aim to elevate the practice of podiatry, serve our local communities, and inspire the next generation of podiatrists. Our resources are directed where they create the most impact—whether it is advocating for the profession or giving back to those in need. Together, we build a stronger future for podiatry in Singapore.
