• Diagnose and provide podiatric treatment including wound management, minor nail surgery and biomechanics to patient with various foot pathologies and to educate general public and other healthcare professionals on all aspects of foot
  health.
• Contribute to learning and growth through active participation in departmental clinical education and clinical training activities
• Supervise, facilitate and oversee learning of support staff/ students/ junior
  staff/peers as required

Changi General Hospital is looking for podiatrists to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in enhancing patients’ overall health and well-being by diagnosing and managing foot-related disorders as part of a multi-disciplinary care team.

• General management of skin and nail conditions including calluses, corns, warts and fungal infections
• Perform partial or total nail avulsion
• Perform diabetic foot screening (neurovascular assessment) and assess risk category of condition
• Management of foot wounds including performing wound debridement and selection of appropriate dressings, as well as providing wound care education
• Provide foot care education, including educating patients on footwear selection based on health condition
• Perform biomechanical assessment and gait analysis
• Capture impressions of patients’ feet for prescription of customised insoles
• Prescription of prefabricated or customised insoles based on foot condition
• Maintain a continuous improvement mindset to seek out opportunities for enhancements to quality, productivity and/or patient safety and care

Your first contract will be a 2-year Associate Programme (equivalent to a UK Band 6 role), including a probation period. In this programme, you will receive training within a structured learning curriculum. During this phase you will assist and study under your assigned mentor podiatrists. Successful candidates who complete the programme will be offered a subsequent contract to practice with enhanced clinical autonomy.

The 2 year programme is essentially a training process. You will be expected to learn to operate our systems and our latest medical technologies. You will also learn our intricate processes and a wide array of new clinical skills and advanced consultation techniques to better manage patient care.

This is a unique opportunity for you to be part of a well-equipped program that offers fluid progression of knowledge in the field of podiatry. Your immediate objective would be to learn on the job whilst assisting your senior podiatrists in their everyday clinic. You will be expected to follow closely the instructions of your senior clinical leads to ensure that overall educational learning and career progression milestones are being met.

You will work closely under the supervision of your clinical lead, and will undergo rotation across our clinic locations to learn from various podiatrists. Duties will include but not limited to:

1. Taking on patient cases as directed by the mentoring podiatrist, who will provide you with the necessary information and guidance to assist patients effectively.
2. All clinical administrative tasks such as patient case notes, medical referrals, correspondence, case reports to track patients recovery progress.
3. You will be expected to continuously study on your own time, as well as to periodically present your learnings and clinical cases to the panel of senior podiatrists.
