On 11 March 2025, 21 students and teachers from Saint Andrew’s Junior College visited a member clinic of the Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore) for an educational and experiential learning session on podiatric medicine.

During the visit, volunteer podiatrists introduced students to the role of podiatrists, demonstrated modern diagnostic techniques and treatment technologies, and shared insights into the qualities, skills and educational pathway required to pursue a career in podiatry. Students also learned about the growing international demand for podiatrists and the opportunities to practise the profession in many parts of the world.

Adding an international dimension to the programme, a lecturer from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, joined the session via Zoom to share perspectives on podiatry education and career opportunities in the UK. Students benefited from the opportunity to engage with both local practitioners and an overseas academic.

The visit concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where students asked thoughtful questions about clinical practice, university education and career preparation. The Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore) is pleased to provide students with meaningful exposure to podiatric medicine and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.
