On 12 March 2025, 22 students and teachers from Republic Polytechnic visited a member clinic of the Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore) for an educational and experiential learning session on podiatric medicine.
During the visit, students were introduced to the role of podiatrists and gained first-hand insight into the technologies and clinical methods used to diagnose and treat lower limb and foot conditions. They also learned about the educational pathway and growing career opportunities available in this specialised healthcare profession.
Adding an international perspective to the programme, a Professor of Podiatric Medicine from the University of Newcastle, Australia, joined the session via Zoom to share insights into studying podiatry in Australia, career opportunities, and the rewarding nature of the profession. Students actively participated in the discussion, asking many thoughtful questions throughout the session.
The visit was well received, with many students describing it as a meaningful and enriching experience. Several were inspired to give serious consideration to pursuing undergraduate studies in podiatric medicine.
The Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore) is pleased to support educational visits that provide students with greater awareness of podiatric medicine and encourage the next generation of healthcare professionals.
