On 18 November 2024, the Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore) [APM(S)] conducted a career talk at St. Andrew’s Junior College, engaging 150 enthusiastic students in exploring podiatry as a healthcare career.
Led by two experienced podiatrists, the session highlighted:
- The Role of Podiatry: Managing foot and lower limb health, from common issues like flat feet to complex conditions like diabetic foot ulcers.
Career Potential: The rising demand for podiatrists in Singapore due to an aging population and chronic health conditions, offering job stability and growth. - Educational Pathways: Local and overseas routes to becoming a podiatrist.
- Impactful Work: Transforming lives by improving mobility and alleviating pain.
The interactive talk concluded with a lively Q&A session, where students asked insightful questions about the profession and the speakers’ personal experiences.
