Association Promotes Podiatric Medicine at Temasek Polytechnic
On 24 February 2026, a volunteer practising podiatrist from the Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore) delivered a career talk to students from the Diploma in Medical Biotechnology at Temasek Polytechnic.
The session introduced students to the profession of podiatric medicine, covering the role of podiatrists, educational pathways, career opportunities, and the growing demand for the profession in an ageing society with an increasing prevalence of diabetes.
Students participated actively in the question-and-answer session, asking about career prospects, further studies, and the scope of practice. Their enthusiastic response reflected a keen interest in learning more about this specialised healthcare profession.
To provide greater exposure to podiatry, students who wished to gain first-hand insight into clinical practice were invited to visit the Association’s Community Podiatry Clinic, where they would have the opportunity to observe podiatrists providing care and interact with practising clinicians.
The career talk reflects the Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore)’s ongoing commitment to promoting awareness of podiatric medicine and encouraging more young people to consider a rewarding career in this growing healthcare profession.
