On 13 February 2025, a volunteer speaker from the Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore) delivered a career talk at Temasek Polytechnic’s Theatre Lecture Hall. The session, attended by 95 students from the Diploma in Medical Biotechnology, provided insights into podiatric medicine, its career pathways, and the growing demand for podiatrists in healthcare.
The speaker highlighted the profession’s role, essential skills, and the impact podiatrists have on patient health. A Q&A session followed, where students actively inquired about career prospects, education pathways, and job opportunities, demonstrating strong interest in the field.
In response, the teacher-in-charge proposed a clinic visit for students keen on learning more. This initiative aims to provide first-hand exposure to podiatric practice, including clinical procedures, patient care, and daily responsibilities.
The talk successfully sparked curiosity among students, reinforcing the Association of Podiatric Medicine (Singapore)’s commitment to promoting podiatric medicine as a career option.
